Today’s SF Chronicle also has a piece about people who were fired, or dooced, for inappropriate content on their blogs. I’ve covered the responsibility of this as an employee before and the impact for PR professionals, in particular. It seems clear that employers also need to have a clear policy to avoid confusion. It’s an easy thing to add to the HR Handbook, and I’m sure it will prevent blog abuse after the event like that suffered by Delta, Waterstones etc. So a good thing for agencies, and for their clients.
