Via Steve Rubel, weird web gizmo of the week goes to egoSurf which allows you to rate your ego based on search engine returns in Google, Yahoo, MSN, del.icio.us and Technorati. The results convert into ego points and are displayed on a speedometer. Here’s mine – I got 10,266 which means my ego is on the verge of overheating and exploding.
Why do this? Good question. Here’s the answer from the site:
egoSurf helps massage the web publisher’s ego, and thereby maintain the cool equilibrium of the net itself.
OK, that clears that up then.
